The largest earthquake to ever strike Japan occurred March 11, 2011 off the coast of Sendai and it registered a startling 8.9-magnitude. This catastrophe has already killed hundreds and has injured many more. The death toll is expected to rise significantly as the recovery effort continues.
We are deeply saddened by the destruction and the human toll that this event has caused. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the families and friends of those affected. With so many of our members with families and friends in Japan and Asia, AREAA has decided to set up a relief fund to assist in the rebuilding effort. Please open your hearts and wallets to support this important effort.
