What Works Now: Smart Moves When Buying a Home
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010
4:30 PM — 5:30 PM

Website: http://realestate.aol.com/home-buying-answers
In 2010, Bank of America believes that more than 50 percent of purchase mortgages will be originated by first-time homebuyers. Improved affordability and a recovering economy are two factors drive more people to consider purchasing a home rather than renting. However, the home purchase process is much different today than years ago. After speaking with customers around the country and hearing their desire for more clarity and guidance during this important process, Bank of America has responded by creating an informative online event to help future home owners buy with confidence.

The event is being broadcast in participation with AOL Real Estate, one of the top five online destinations for real estate properties on the market and one with a direct focus on the first-time homebuyer. \"What Works Now: Smart Moves When Buying a Home\" will air on Wednesday, June 23 at 7:30 PM ET/4:30 PM PT and will feature videos and online questions from actual consumers on topics including:
%u2022 Determining if owning a home is the best option
%u2022 Learning the impact of credit history and credit scores
%u2022 Choosing the right loan
%u2022 Understanding and preparing for closing cost fees
%u2022 Completing the loan process

The panel will be moderated by AOL\'s consumer advisor Regina Lewis, who will be joined by two experienced experts in the areas of housing and personal finance:
%u2022 Todd Dal Porto, Enterprise Sales Executive from Bank of America Home Loans, has over 25 years of mortgage banking experience. Todd will discuss purchasing a home you can comfortably afford by explaining the lending process and how new regulations, changing interest rates and a potential homebuyer\'s financial history all have an impact on getting a loan in today\'s market.

%u2022 Lynnette Khalfani-Cox is a personal finance expert and author of the book, \"Your First Home: The Smart Way to Get It, And Keep It\". Lynnette will discuss the importance of organizing finances before, during and after the decision to purchase a home and provide useful tips that are invaluable for both first time and repeat home buyers alike.

The most important thing a potential home buyer can do - especially if this is their first home - is to enter the home buying process as informed and prepared as possible. As a valued partner, we strongly believe in working with you to build on our promise to always be a responsible lender and to create and demonstrate tools and resources that help create successful homeowners.

To view this event, please join us on Wednesday, June 23 at 7:30 PM ET/4:30 PM PT at: http://realestate.aol.com/home-buying-answers.

The event is free and open to the public so we encourage you to share this invitation with your constituents and colleagues, or anyone else interested in getting expert information on the home buying process, as appropriate.
