WELCOME TO THE NEW AREAA GREATER EAST BAY CHAPTER SITE!
- By Ellen Osmundson, Greater East Bay Chapter, CA
Asian Americans, Asian Americans, don’t we all have dreams?
We dream for our children, we dream for our grandchildren; we dream big and we dream bigger, but where do we begin?
We are from the biggest continent in the world – Asia.
Chinese, Vietnamese, Indians, Filipinos, Thais, Indonesians, Koreans, Japanese and everybody else in between. Chinese are from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and everywhere else too. We all come here to search until our dreams come true.
What is Asian culture like? People ask.
There is no one unified Asian culture. It is just a rich and colorful tapestry of all of the Asian cultures combined. Food, clothes, religions, values – some are similar but some are very easy to define.
What connects all Asian cultures together is our common love for land. Land is where crops are grown; land is where houses are built. Food and shelter –the two vital components are for survival, or, they can make life comfortable and mellow.
In the modern world, we don’t worry about growing crops. But we do not forget about building shelter that we call home. In a modern world like America, shelters include detached homes, condos, townhouses and many more. The beauty is that in America, these are properties people can buy and own.
Buying US properties is so easy, people say. Just go online, find a home and pay.
You can do that of course but you cannot return it like anything else you purchase.
Real estate is an investment for your own use or not. As easy as people say location, location, location; there are more to it than making important decisions with a big nod.
Location equals transportation; Location equals schools. Location equals community and safety; Location equals amenities.
How about rules and regulations and latest government updates? Without the latest information, you won’t even know what are the government or community mandates.
How about economic and market changes? Who can stay on top of the market and guide you through your important decisions?
Members of the Asian Real Estate Association of America will help you with much of their diligence.
Trainings, classes, conferences and global updates are frequent offerings at AREAA. Members learn and learn; clients benefit without additional pay.
AREAA members are resourceful too. They share their knowledge from different cultures and apply it through and through.
Respect all cultures, AREAA members say. That’s the way AREAA members operate.
AREAA represents the best and brightest in the real estate industry. Without a doubt, there you’ll find the hardest working professionals in the country.
American dreams begin with AREAA members. Seek them out and you’ll be sure to get the right number!
