Henry appointed NAR liaison to the Philippines

Shonee Henry has been appointed 2010 National Association of REALTORS (NAR) President's Liaison to Philippine Association of REALTORS Boards, Inc. in the Philippines by incoming President Vicki Cox Golder. In this role, Shonee Henry will serve as the mediator between NAR and the Cooperating Association in the Philippines by maintaining a consistent exchange of communication. This appointment has come at the best opportune time when the Philippine Real Estate Service Act (RESA) was at last signed into law after 20 years of waiting. NAR has wanted to see Philippine Real Estate to fall under one governing body and it is now happening.

Formerly overseen by the Department of Trade and Industry, real estate consultants, appraisers, and brokers will now fall under the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) and shall be subjected to licensing process in which one of the requirement is to pass a technical exam, continuing professional education and abide by its own Code of Ethics.

Ms. Henry states that with the new law in the Philippines, real estate international practitioners would have the ability to form one governing body in the Philippines to real estate practitioners globally.

Shonee Henry plans to organize trade missions and educational opportunities particularly the CIPS designation in the Philippines as part of her role as President's Liaison.
