Cristy Maria Montoya is the founder and principal designer of Factory of Spaces, a luxury multi-service interior design studio known for curating elegant, sophisticated interiors that tell meaningful stories. With a design career shaped by diverse experiences and a global perspective, Cristy brings a thoughtful, intentional approach to each project, blending timeless luxury with contemporary ease.
Her design journey began with an innate curiosity for how people use spaces and how they impact daily life. Raised in a culturally diverse environment, Cristy’s early inspiration came from travel, architecture, and observing how thoughtfully designed spaces could create comfort, beauty, and connection. That passion led her to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, where she built a strong foundation in technical skills, materials, and spatial planning.
Cristy’s professional path began in Las Vegas, where she gained hands-on experience in hospitality and luxury residential design. From there, she expanded her vision and expertise in New York City’s dynamic design scene before ultimately establishing herself in Charlotte, North Carolina. Each step of her journey has deepened her understanding of what makes a space not only beautiful but functional and enduring.
Her portfolio spans high-end residential homes, boutique hospitality concepts, and distinctive commercial projects. Known for creating spaces that feel both elevated and approachable, Cristy’s work is defined by using simple textures, bold yet balanced palettes, and unexpected details that reflect each client’s story.
