In 2017, Katie Wu founded the AREAA Brooklyn Chapter with the goal of bridging gaps with the government, leveraging her expertise and network to create opportunities for AANHPI communities. Katie firmly believed that while there were already two chapters representing Queens, Long Island, and Manhattan, there should be another chapter focusing on Brooklyn. Her vision was to provide a platform specifically tailored to address the unique needs and challenges of Brooklyn's diverse AANHPI real estate professionals and communities. In her leadership role, Katie spearheaded various initiatives aimed at empowering AANHPI real estate professionals and fostering community engagement. She organized networking events, educational workshops, and advocacy campaigns to promote homeownership opportunities and address housing disparities in Brooklyn. Katie's dedication and vision laid the foundation for the chapter's growth and impact in the years to come.
